Proverbs of a 42 yr old man

Some see giants in the land; others see the grapes in the land bigger. Faith defies human nature because through relationship with God in Christ, we are built up with a common sense different than the worlds. Numbers 13:23 states, "When they came to the Valley of Eshcol, they cut down a branch with a single cluster of grapes, which they carried on a pole between two men, along with some pomegranates and figs." Amen. Moses, following God's command, sends twelve spies, one from each tribe of Israel, to scout the land of Canaan. Their mission was to assess the land's fertility, the strength of its inhabitants, and the fortifications of its cities. Upon their return, the spies bring back a single cluster of grapes so large that it had to be carried on a pole between two men. While the cluster of grapes is a testament to God's provision, ten of the spies focused on the formidable inhabitants and fortified cities, leading to a report that incites fear and rebellion among the people. Only Joshua and Caleb, two of the twelve spies, encourage the Israelites to trust in God's promise and power to deliver the land into their hands. This illustrates the tension between human perception and divine assurance. The Israelites' failure to enter the Promised Land at that time, due to their lack of faith, resulted in forty years of wandering in the wilderness. This account challenges believers to trust in God's provision and to focus on His promises rather than the obstacles that may seem insurmountable. As believers in Jesus, we must remain steadfast in faith, even when faced with daunting challenges, and to remember that God's plans are always for our ultimate good and prosperity. As we grow and mature in our relationship with Christ, faith becomes the variable. We build a solid foundation in God's word and allow the Holy Spirit to give us faith to walk it out in this evil and doubting world. Hebrews 11:6 It is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. Amen. That means that we will face situations and trials that requires faith. Faith in Gods word and faith that He rewards those who seek Him and want to know Him. True faith is this: I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead! I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained. Phil. 3:10-15 Amen.
