Die to self so that others may live. This so that they may know Him who is Eternal Life by the love you show them. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. By this we know what love is: Jesus laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. Amen. What would that look like in your life and relationships today? To die spiritually to yourself and do the work of reconciliation that God in Christ has for us. Jesus died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So, we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” Amen. Think about this real closely this last thought. Romans 5:10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Amen. Same for us, through the death of ourselves to Christ. Meaning my old self has been crucified with Christ. It's no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. So, the life I live in this earthly body I live trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. If I spiritually die in this way imagine how much more others will be saved through the life I live! We are living sacrifices that bring much fruit to the Kingdom of God by the way we live and love for Jesus Christ our LORD.
