The meal after the meal. This Thanksgiving God is calling many sons and daughters to the table. In this season the LORD Jesus is still knocking on the door of many hearts. An invitation to dine with Him and the Father. The Holy Spirit pours out generously like a gravy cup, a sign of favor and blessing. This heavenly table is decked out with spiritual food and drink. Come those who are hungry and thirsty for relationship with God. Fellowship with the Father and Son and Holy Spirit. Pass the food and drink around and be partakers of the divine nature of God. Jesus, says come eat, this is my body that I have broken for you. Come drink, this is my blood that I have spilled for you. There is restoration at the table. There is forgiveness at the table. There is freedom at the table. There is hope at the table. There is peace at the table. Oh, I see a great conversation at the table! Love is the tone of the table. Everyone can sit and eat and taste that the LORD is good! Like a good Heavenly Father I hear his affirmations as I eat till my heart is full. Jesus has provided not only the bread and the wine, but a full course meal to enjoy in His Presence. Now as the meal is over and you have given us leftovers to take home. I hear you say Jesus, through the power of Holy Spirit. Feed my sheep! Amen. The LORD prepares a table before us in the presence of our enemies. How much more is the LORD calling you and me to set a table up this Thanksgiving season? Let the great banquet parable Jesus taught resonate within you. Matt. 24:8-14 v8 Then the king spoke to his servants again. “The wedding meal is ready”, he said. “But the people that I invited did not deserve to eat it. v9 Go out into the streets. And invite anyone that you can find there.” 10 Go out into the streets. And invite anyone that you can find there.” So the servants went out into the streets. They gathered both good people and bad people. Then the wedding hall became full of guests. v11 The king came into the hall to see the guests. And he noticed a man who was not wearing proper clothes for the wedding. v12 “Friend”, he asked him, “how did you get in here without wearing wedding clothes?” The man could not answer. v13 Then the king told his servants, “Tie up his hands and his feet. Throw him out into the darkness. Out there, people will weep. And they will bite their teeth together.” v14 Many people receive an invitation. But God chooses only a few people’, Jesus said. Amen. Give thanks. For He has much food and work for you to do for His Kingdom.
