Made to give Him Glory Part 1. God is like a multifaceted diamond; in every angle of our lives, He gets the Glory! We were created to reflect the heart of God. In Christ our new life in Him brings Him Glory! 1 Cor. 10:31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Amen. We have been given this great opportunity through the promises of God to partake in His Divine Nature. In Jesus, we have not received the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but we have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Listen to that, we are share in the glory of Jesus. We are his chosen people that He pours out the presence of Holy Spirit! Wow, we are seated with Christ in heavenly places to share in His Glory. Not to be God, but to be like God, being a vessel that houses His Glory. The best way to express this I found is the sunflower. Sunflowers follow the Sun all day as it rises from the east and goes down to the west. Scripture says that The Lord God is a sun and shield. He gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. We are the son and daughter flowers that the LORD shines His Face on. Keeping our eyes on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. Some more food for thought, the sunflower by itself resets towards the east as it anticipates the Sun rising again the next day! Are we not His sunflowers that live and follow the Light each day, each morning his tender mercies are renewed. Also, isn't it fascinating how sunflowers look like the shape of the Sun? Are we not renewed in the image of Christ? As the Light shines on the face of a sunflower so does God shine His Light in our hearts and minds. Think about this: There are those, the enemy of our souls included, that choose not to reflect the glory of their Creator and Sustenance by westward facing all the days of their lives. They have hardened their hearts and shriveled up by keeping far from the Light of Heaven Himself. We must join with those who have received the Gospel and follow the Light Himself wherever He goes. For as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Amen. A forgiveness that goes beyond east and west, having the grace to follow Jesus daily east to west. Some fun facts to spiritually close with: As a sunflower matures it behaves differently. A mature sunflower doesn't track the Sun all day like it used to. Because of its growth and age, it has learned to respond and receive more strongly the morning Sun, it just faces east having early morning sunlight to last the day. Also, east facing sunflowers attracts way more pollinating insects than the ones facing more west. The sonflowers has matured learning to seek God early in the morning, His Love and Mercy. This so that they are able to share His Love and Mercy to others wandering in the darkness of this world, living a westward life. After reading this I hope this classic verse has a whole new meaning to you. May the LORD bless you and protect you. May the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. May the LORD show you his favor and give you, His peace. Amen. Go east early in the morning. Say LORD Jesus, early in the morning before the sun is up, I am praying and pointing out how much I trust in you.
