I can't, I can't LORD. The world is against me. So much is holding me back. My Spirit is willing but my flesh is weak. I hear you say to me Jesus, it never stopped me. Praise God! You took on the flesh and overcame it. Even death could not overcome you. I can, I can obey the word of God because the yoke of Christ. COME TO JESUS AND YOU WILL FIND REST. Amen! In Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus's phrase, "My yoke is easy and my burden is light" (Matthew 11:30), means that following Him provides rest, contrasting His gentle way with the oppressive, legalistic rules of the Pharisees, offering a liberating path where He helps share the load, making life's purpose achievable and restful, not burdensome. Taking His "yoke" means submitting to His teachings of love and humility, finding rest for your soul, and exchanging heavy, self-imposed burdens for a life in partnership with Him, supported by His grace. Amen. Think about this contrast of Jesus carrying the Cross and Him calling us to bear our own cross.
Matthew 27:starting in verse 27
27Some of the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into their headquarters and called out the entire regiment. 28They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him. 29They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head, and they placed a reed stick in his right hand as a scepter. Then they knelt before him in mockery and taunted, “Hail! King of the Jews!” 30And they spit on him and grabbed the stick and struck him on the head with it. 31When they were finally tired of mocking him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him again. Then they led him away to be crucified. 32Along the way, they came across a man named Simon, who was from Cyrene, and the soldiers forced him to carry Jesus’ cross. 33And they went out to a place called Golgotha (which means “Place of the Skull”). 34The soldiers gave Jesus wine mixed with bitter gall, but when he had tasted it, he refused to drink it. Amen. I picture Simeon the Cyrene like us carrying the light side of the burden but bearing witness to Jesus our LORD carrying the heavier load. When we carry our own Cross we bear the name of Jesus and the world will hate us as we live for Christ. But we still carry the light side of the yoke because Jesus is keeping us blameless till the day He returns. The Spirit of Christ in us does the heavy lifting as we really totally on the grace of God to do His Will for our lives. Jesus gives His Life to us while doing life with us day by day in the Spirit. Though our flesh is dying our spirit is renewing day by day because the yoke of Christ we can live abundantly into eternity.
