Put away the evil desires and behavior you sinfully feed on. Yes, rid yourself of deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. Stop being hateful! Quit trying to fool people and start being sincere. Don't be jealous or say cruel things about others. Instead, like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. Amen. Many have been believers for so long now that they ought to be teaching others. Instead, they need someone to teach them again the basic things about God’s word. They are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food. It is easy for those who grow in the wisdom of God's Word to be prideful. To get puffed up and say prayers like the Pharisees. ‘I thank you, God, that I am not like other people- cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not like that tax collector! Just like we need spiritual milk to give us hunger and thirst for righteousness. So, do we need spiritual milk to wash down heavy meet of the Word. We choke on meat because of pride and hypocrisy. In order to spiritually grow we need the milk of the Word to help us gradually eat the meat of the Word. And the goal of eating solid food of Scripture is to know Jesus more be more like Him. But what happens is we lose appetite for the meat of the word and the milk of the word you lost what brought you. So now you are just chasing wisdom and the gifts of God instead of the fruit of Christ in you that gives you hunger and thirst. Jesus is who gives us hunger and thirst to press into the deep things of God. He said, “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles? But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ Amen. It's not about how much meat you can eat but how much of the milk of the word you allowed to hunger and thirst within you. In Scripture, milk symbolizes the basic teachings of the gospel, while solid food represents deeper, more complex spiritual truths for mature believers (Hebrews 5:12-14). New believers start with milk to build a foundation in faith, learning to discern right from wrong and developing a relationship with God. As they grow, they progress to solid food, which requires greater understanding and spiritual discernment. This continual intake of spiritual nourishment helps believers grow in character, faith, and conduct, moving toward spiritual maturity and a deeper relationship with God. Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be mature. Let's grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity.
