Battle Prayer notes March 15 2023
Theme this week: Giving back to God what is His. Topic: His Breath
Good morning brother
Day 2
Reading the word out loud. Reading Scripture back to God. Giving our breath in return through reading Scripture aloud and with each other. Actually a tradition that Israel still practices till this day. The open and daily reading of Scripture. The word of God needs to be daily on our lips so that we can grow in the knowledge of Christ? The Holy Spirit is a big part of receiving the Word. Let’s grow together and help each other learn the inspired word of God.
The faithful pastor not only learns to teach others but also learns to faithfully live the Word he teaches.
If my life doesn’t show obedience to the scriptures all of my teaching will be hot air and wasted time. I am by no stretch of the imagination perfect. I need these scriptures in my life as much as anyone else. I must show obedience to the things of God’s Word.
Study Is 43. God is doing a new thing. Something new that refreshes the soul!
The public reading of the Torah aloud becomes an Israelite practice. As an entire nation, they celebrate required weekly sabbaths and rhythmic, annual festivals where the Torah is constantly being read aloud and sung together. Men, women, children, and foreigners living as neighbors with the Israelites all gather together to listen to people read the Scriptures publicly (Deut. 31:10-13).
They listen to learn. They listen to understand. They listen to remember. They listen to be shaped by a communal experience of a common story.
Speak the word out loud and live it out!
“Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you. Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. 1 Timothy 4:13-16
[Luk 4:16-21 NLT] 16 When he (Jesus) came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures. 17 The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written: 18 "The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, 19 and that the time of the LORD's favor has come." 20 He rolled up the scroll, handed it back to the attendant, and sat down. All eyes in the synagogue looked at him intently. 21 Then he began to speak to them. "The Scripture you've just heard has been fulfilled this very day!"
[Act 8:29-35 NLT] 29 The Holy Spirit said to Philip, "Go over and walk along beside the carriage." 30 Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked, "Do you understand what you are reading?" 31 The man replied, "How can I, unless someone instructs me?" And he urged Philip to come up into the carriage and sit with him. 32 The passage of Scripture he had been reading was this: "He was led like a sheep to the slaughter. And as a lamb is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. 33 He was humiliated and received no justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth." 34 The eunuch asked Philip, "Tell me, was the prophet talking about himself or someone else?" 35 So beginning with this same Scripture, Philip told him the Good News about Jesus.
Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
Isaiah 55:6-11
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
Hebrews 4:12
There is so much joy in the word that we say LORD don’t stop tickling me.
[Luk 5:1 NLT] 1 One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, great crowds pressed in on him to listen to the word of God.
[Act 4:31 NLT] 31 After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.
[Act 4:31 NLT] 31 After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.
[Act 11:1 NLT] 1 Soon the news reached the apostles and other believers in Judea that the Gentiles had received the word of God.
[Act 12:24 NLT] 24 Meanwhile, the word of God continued to spread, and there were many new believers.
I use to cry tears of pity but now I cry Tears of joy and living water.
Don’t keep your thought small keep your thoughts big on God and his word.
We are the ones blessed to know God personally.
The Word will reach people. What the LORD plants will bear fruit.
[Eph 6:17 NLT] 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
“In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.”
Psalms 102:25
“You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”
John 14:14
““All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe. I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me. “Come now; let us leave.”
John 14:25-31
[2Ti 2:9 NLT] 9 And because I preach this Good News, I am suffering and have been chained like a criminal. But the word of God cannot be chained.
[Rev 20:4 NLT] 4 Then I saw thrones, and the people sitting on them had been given the authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony about Jesus and for proclaiming the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his statue, nor accepted his mark on their forehead or their hands. They all came to life again, and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
Don’t stop loving on people. Don’t stop praying and reading the word.
Thank you for another great day of Zoom battle prayer.
