At the altar call is where your sacrifice begins. The Holy Spirit brings fire to your bones and it's up to you not to quench it or grieve it. In the old covenant, an animal was offered and consecrated to God. But in the new testament those who are in Christ by saving faith offer themselves as a living sacrifice. The Holy Spirit in our unredeemed body can and must be yielded to God as an instrument of righteousness. In view of the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus this is only reasonable. The fire would consume the animal in the old way of sacrifice, but in you is the never ending consuming power that raised Jesus from the dead! You are burning daily, a living sacrifice thats being transformed by the renewing of your mind. His fiery love and His living Word is molding you and me into His Image.
