Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Lord, no one can keep from dying or put off the day of death. That is a battle we cannot escape; we cannot cheat our way out. We must face death one day and accept that all mankind has fallen. There is a right time and procedure to every purpose, though a man’s misery weighs heavily upon him. Since no one knows what will happen, who can tell him what is to come? Christ took on death for us and was victorious. He is the one who knows what is to come and what will happen. Jesus controls the wind of life and he knows where it goes. It animates every living thing here on earth. There is no escape in this time of spiritual war on earth, all will be judged in the Presence of Christ. He is able to raise up the dead to separate the wheat from the tares. And in the face of death, wickedness will certainly not rescue the wicked. There is no discharge from this war, nor will wickedness deliver those who are given to it. Because the wicked do not fear God, it will not go well with them, and their days will not lengthen like a shadow. For the righteous what is sown in dishonour; will be raised in glory: what is sown in weakness will be raised in power. Imagine that first glimpse of the afterlife where Christ is. Praise God for his infinite mercy and grace on the Cross. Meditate Prov. 10:27
