Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Lord, I want to be careful to live properly among unbelievers. It is a crooked and perverse generation out there and I want to be blameless and pure before your eyes. To live a clean, innocent life as a child of God, shining like a bright star in the night's sky. Always letting others see me pursuing righteousness, even though they ridicule me as if I were doing something wrong. While they are watching me do good things they will be humbled on the day God shows up to help me. Jesus, keep my conscience clear. If people speak against me, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life I have because I belong to Christ. I rid myself of all evil; no more lying or hypocrisy or jealousy or insulting language.

May my advice be wholesome, nothing devious or crooked in it. You are my God. Show me what you want me to do, and let your gentle Spirit lead me in the right path so unbelievers may follow me safely. I consider what Jesus went through; how he put up with so much hatred from sinners! So I will not let myself become discouraged and give up this faith in me. I pray to you Lord, Let the wicked leave their way of life and change their way of thinking. Let them turn to you the one true God; who is merciful and quick to forgive. And I as the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Being humble and gentle when I correct people who oppose the truth. May God give them the opportunity to repent and come to know the truth. Meditate Is. 55:7
