Oh To Be Wise Meditations

You know what scares me? It's what happens after the bite of sin. When Adam and Eve had just bit the forbidden fruit and were suppose to die but didn't. They reasoned in their hearts the fact that God knew on the day they eat of the fruit, their eyes would be opened and they would be like God, knowing good and evil. But there is that eerie feeling after willful and blatant sin against God. A dreadful silence that starts a feeling of judgment within you. A slight relief that you did not surely die turns into an unbearable weight of shame over you. The guilt that comes over you when you know God's sovereignty and authority goes around the whole earth looking for those who would serve him. Naked in soul and wet for hell's fire, you cover yourself with dirty rags hoping to find mercy in this dying world. Praise the Lord, the grace of God renews everyday calling out to his sons and daughters, where are you? If your like me amazed by the grace of God, that after willful sin Christ still looks to save us. Then come with me daily to find grace and strength from the covering of Christ. Look what sin is doing to our world. Look at sin and see what its doing to your life. Yes, after the first bite it looks like sweet stolen water. But you now know if you live long enough sins bitter taste. We are surely dying and sin is ready to swallow us into death. Lets go to Jesus now and ask for forgiveness for that same sin. He is full of love and compassion. Do not be fooled by sins peace, the snakes poison is on your lips and it will ruin your life. Find the elixir of Christ and live free in the midst of sin of death.
