Proverbs of a 36 yr old man

O humanity! Jesus who was like a sheep, harmless and defenseless. Was treated as if He had been one of the wild beasts of the forest. Jesus himself suffered outside the city gate, so his blood would make people holy. How fallen, dishonored, infamous are we, O humanity! How low, depraved, heinous, indeed we are to put the Messiah Himself to death, and crucify the Lord of Glory. Crucify him, crucify him! And all the people answered and said, ''His blood be on us and on our children''. Yes, Christ blood is upon us, on the doorpost of our hearts. His blood has atoned for our sins. We despised him and rejected him; he endured suffering and pain. No one would even look at him--we ignored him as if he were nothing. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! He was wounded and crushed because of our sins; by taking our punishment, He made us completely well. What was meant for evil, God has used to bring about our salvation.
