Oh To Be Wise Meditations

God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish. “Because the poor are plundered, because the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the LORD; “I will place him in the safety for which he longs.” With every bone in my body I will praise him: “LORD, who can compare with you? Who else rescues the helpless from the strong? Who else protects the helpless and poor from those who rob them?” He saves the needy from the sword in their mouth and from the clutches of the powerful. Though the wicked have drawn the sword and strung the bow to bring down the poor and needy and to slaughter those whose way is upright. God is a righteous judge and a God who feels indignation each day. If a person does not repent, God will sharpen his sword;he will bend and string his bow. He will prepare his deadly weapons and shoot his flaming arrows. The wicked conceive evil;they are pregnant with trouble and give birth to lies. They dig a deep pit to trap others, then fall into it themselves. The trouble they make for others backfires on them. The violence they plan falls on their own heads. I will thank the LORD because he is just;I will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High. Incline your ear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. Make me rich with your presence inside, Holy Spirit come! Meditate Ps. 31:2
