Oh To Be Wise Meditations

For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come. Our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly wait for a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. You have been raised to life with Christ. Now set your heart on what is in heaven, where Christ rules at God's right side. Yes, and the Lord will deliver you from every evil attack and will bring you safely into his heavenly Kingdom. All glory to God forever and ever! Amen. Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy. You are free, but still you are God's servants, and you must not use your freedom as an excuse for doing wrong. Do not get too comfortable in this world, The Lord has things prepared for us that no eye has seen and no ear has heard.
