Proverbs of a 36 yr old man

Hitting the Wall. Spread the Good News and share in its blessings.

Anyone who is running the race of faith will experience hitting the wall. An intimidating barrier that blocks you from running as hard as you want in the later stages of a race. Most runners hit this wall around the 18-20 mile mark of a marathon. But proper training will give the body and mind time to adapt these rigors. Same with our faith as we begin to discipline our bodies, bringing it under strict control of relationship with Christ. As our spiritual training grows we will start to see victory over sin in our lives. Spiritually hitting the wall is not something that needs to be feared or avoided. When we get to the point where sin and temptation drains us of our energy and life, do not give up. Jesus will forgive us of habitual sin and is working a far greater work within us which is a faithful heart. He is wanting us to run for distance and not speed. Meaning issue by issue He will address in our lives so that we stay faithfully running for His glory. This so that after preaching to others, we ourselves are not disqualified. The LORD will break us down until we are totally depended on Him. It is an energy issue, once we have depleted our own fuel and effort we typically lose to temptation. But through relationship with Christ our fuel source comes from a new heart and mind filled with Holy Spirit. Then we will run and not grow weary, we will be strong like eagles soaring upward on wings. You need fuel for the distance, and you need discipline for learning. Christ will move us past the wall of our sins as we run faster and harder for ultimately

His glory. He is at the finish lane waiting for us, for He has run this race for us already and was victorious. In Him we are victorious. Study Phil. 3:13
