Proverbs of a 36 yr old man

The unashamed workman. Do your best to present yourself to God as a tried-and-true worker who isn't ashamed to teach the word of truth correctly. A bad workman is constantly blaming his tools, never admitting that it is an excuse for lack of skill. Wisdom in Hebrew means skill or expertise in living. Just as a person might be a skilled craftsman, musician, or lawyer, so a person might be skilled in the living of life. Christ life is a model we should emulate to gain such skill. By his own choice, he gave us birth by the word of truth so that we would be a kind of first-fruits of his creatures. Will we blame God as well as the tools he has given us for sin in our lives? Even the trials in our lives? No, we have everything we need to live a life that pleases God. It was all given to us by God's own power, when we learned he had invited us to share in his wonderful goodness. The disciplines of prayer and reading scripture are still the sharpest weapons of spiritual warfare. Faith, hope and love can still demolish any stronghold. We need to continue in the spiritual disciplines as disciples of Jesus. Not ashamed to live out the truths we are learning in Scripture. If we do not, our bad workmanship will show in the idols we make unto ourselves instead of the Image of Christ in us.
