Battle Prayer notes 4/19/23

Good morning brother,

Day two: Men lead with wisdom and self control. We need to be men of wisdom, knowledge and insight. Men that read and discern the times. Able to defend your faith and be a strong pillar of morality with the culture and politics of the day. Stand up for God's truth and be able to live it out and show yourself approved.

God is constantly pruning us and building us up. Jesus is the true vine and he will bear fruit in our lives.

If the beginning of wisdom is to fear the LORd

Than To know the LORD is true wisdom.

Look at these men, they have been with Jesus! They have the Spirit of God in their life giving them wisdom.

God helped these four young men to become clever and wise. While they studied, he helped them to learn from many different books. They could understand many things. Daniel could also understand the meaning of all kinds of dreams.

When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.

Acts 4:13

The gift of Holy Spirit is the wisdom and knowledge of Jesus.

For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,”‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—”‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭12‬ ‭

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 1 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭15‬ ‭

I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭12‬

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭22‬-‭23‬ ‭

1 Corinthians 1:24 NLT — But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.

To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds. At the end of the time set by the king to bring them into his service, the chief official presented them to Nebuchadnezzar. The king talked with them, and he found none equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king’s service. In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom. And Daniel remained there until the first year of King Cyrus.

Daniel‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬-‭21‬

Self control can help break generational curses.  As men we have the privilege lead.  By exercising self-control we allow our children or others the way we act.  It’s a parental cycle that allows us to show our the we react.

““To you, O people, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind. You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, set your hearts on it. Listen, for I have trustworthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right. My mouth speaks what is true, for my lips detest wickedness. All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse. To the discerning all of them are right; they are upright to those who have found knowledge. Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭8‬:‭4‬-‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This is what the Lord says to me with his strong hand upon me, warning me not to follow the way of this people: “Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it. The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8‬:‭11‬-‭13‬ ‭

The 5 C’s in Life.

Christ builds up my

Courage to make the

Choice to take a

Chance to make a

Change

A Change to leave my old life and pick up my cross to follow Jesus.

You need the book of Job to increase your wisdom on how it all works, but acknowledge that the book of Ecclesiastes tells you what truly matters. Hevel! -Vapor smoke appears important but only there to prevent clarity.

God is beyond our understanding. The creator of the Sun is beyond my comprehension. Our God is above and not in Time, Space, and Matter yet he is all in Jesus. Jesus didn't only die for our sins but he lived among men to advise us how to live righteously and make it possible to have a relationship with him.

I don't ask for my own wisdom but his.

Wisdom is the right application of knowledge.

Position yourself to hear from the LORD and then share wisdom to those who ask and need.

Make yourself a vessel for the LORD. Carry his presence and wisdom and love.

Speak the word. Don’t be ashamed.

Read Psalm 45:1

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭

Pastor Greg said this…
