Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Then to Adam He said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat from it’; Cursed is the ground because of you;

In toil you will eat of it All the days of your life. “Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you; And you will eat the plants of the field; By the sweat of your face You will eat bread, Till you return to the ground, Because from it you were taken; For you are dust, And to dust you shall return.” The creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself would also be set free from corrupting bondage in order to share the glorious freedom of God's children. Everything in this world is decaying, especially the spirit of the age. We know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until the present time. While people are saying, "Peace and security," destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. Panic seized them there, Anguish, as of a woman in childbirth. LORD, help me not be swept away with the curse of sin and death. Jesus provided freedom through the Cross through his death. So that when we can pass safely from this life to his life.

Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For we who are alive are always consigned to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our mortal bodies. So we live in the face of death, but this has resulted in eternal life for you. The scripture says, "I spoke because I believed." In the same spirit of faith we also speak because we believe. We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus, will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together with you. All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.
