Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Its not just about cleaning out your mind from the filth of the world. Its more about what your filling your mind with. Your brain is like the engine in the car. What type of fuel you fill it with makes the difference in mileage. This is where your thoughts and decisions come from, the person who you really are inside you, are we going to waste such an amazing organ? We must keep it strong not only through physical exercise, but also mental stimulation. God in Christ has called us to a higher calling, a higher existence than what is offered to us through sin and pleasure. How we think and move affects everything we do even our own bodies. Consider the tongue, it is a small part of the body, but it boasts of great things. And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and sea creatures can be tamed and have been tamed. But no one has ever been able to tame the tongue. It is evil and uncontrollable, full of deadly poison. The Lord knows how evil works in the heart and in the mind of humanity. Jesus calls us to deal with evil in our minds so that it will not manifest itself in our lives. Our minds need to be filtered by the Living Word daily. What good is it to clean up your spiritual house from evil influences, and then allow filth back in by the way you think and live. The best thing about the Gospel is that it is available at all times in the Presence of Jesus. We have been given the Mind of Christ to live and think from. Not having to dwell in the thoughts of the flesh but can enjoy the Spirit of Life. The Holy Spirit dwells in humanity and connects us to the pure mind of God. Meaning we can operate from a clean temple and not be succumbed to the evil ways of sin and death. Lord, I want to fill my mind with pure gasoline so that Holy Spirit can burn a righteous flame in my heart and mind.
