Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Elisha died and was buried. Every year in the spring, Moab's leaders sent raiding parties into Israel. Once, while some Israelites were burying a man's body, they saw a group of Moabites. The Israelites quickly threw the body into Elisha's tomb and ran away. As soon as the man's body touched the bones of Elisha, the man came back to life and stood up. All I can think about is this: But those who die in the LORD will live; their bodies will rise again! Those who sleep in the earth will rise up and sing for joy! For your life-giving light will fall like dew on your people in the place of the dead! There is so much life and power in the Spirit of Christ. Even in the old testament where the Holy Spirit had not been poured out fully still the spirits power was in Elisha's bones. It brought one man back to life. John the Baptist was Elijah whom prophecies said would come. A prophet heralding the arrival of the Messiah, the Christ, and the ‘Day of the LORD’ when everyone who asked God for forgiveness would be saved. The Gospel of Jesus was the full release of Holy Spirit into the world where souls might be saved. Growing in the knowledge of Christ I want the word of God to be rich in the marrow of my bones. So when I die to self Jesus can bring life to my very being and make all things new. Imagine the power of God's love moving in us so effectively that our testimony and faith brings his life to dead men's hearts. Soon Jesus will come again and raise many souls to life eternal. We can have the deposit of that life now through the presence of Jesus in our hearts and minds. We have resurrections power living in us.
