Oh To Be Wise Meditations

God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through? If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is. He too is wise and brings disaster; He does not call back His words. He will rise up against the house of the wicked and against the allies of evildoers. The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever. For a fool speaks foolishness; his mind plots iniquity. He practices ungodliness and speaks falsely about the LORD; he leaves the hungry empty and deprives the thirsty of drink. The smooth tricks of scoundrels are evil. They plot crooked schemes. They lie to convict the poor, even when the cause of the poor is just. But generous people plan to do what is generous, and they stand firm in their generosity. God is not a man, but He became man so that we could be saved from sin and death. Its time we stop acting like the world and starting living for God. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.

Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom. God always does what he plans, and this is why he appointed Christ to choose us. If one wished to contend with God, he could not answer Him one time out of a thousand. God is not a man, but He is the Son of man. Thank you Jesus, you do not lie because you are truth itself.
