Oh To Be Wise Meditations

When something is dead there is no lifeblood in it. You can cut it and it not bleed with life, just a dead carcass remains. Our sins have made us like that to God. Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. But we were made alive in Christ through the Cross, by his stripes we are healed! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. Jesus tore through veil of the sanctuary by his blood, yes, by his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water. God In Christ has pricked our hearts and we can't help but bleed spirit and life! Our once dead hearts bleed and are alive to God. Just at the name of Jesus our hearts cry out, ABBA we love you! Tears pour out as we sing praises to our LORD and Savior. We once were dead to God but now are alive in Christ. We can have a real and personal experience with God through Jesus. Lashes and wounds scour evil, and beatings cleanse the inmost parts. Jesus took that punishment for us so that we could be cleansed from our inmost parts. The death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God. Because Jesus lives I live. His blood is the lifeblood to our faith and everlasting life.
