Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Spiritual Authority. I struggle with my spiritual authority. Born under the law my flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Thank God! Jesus Christ will rescue me. So with my mind I serve the Law of God, although my selfish desires make me serve the law of sin. Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires. Instead, I must clothe myself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And not let myself think about ways to indulge my evil desires. I have put on his righteousness, and it clothed has me; justice is my robe and my turban. I have been given spiritual authority in Christ and I must live confident in this. There is so much the LORD Jesus for me to do according to his will. If only I step into the grace he has given me. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Put on your spiritual authority in Christ and take off the works of the flesh.
