Oh To Be Wise Meditations
LORD I want to be deeply moved by you. I want to see what you see and hear what you hear. I want to care about what you care about. This way, when I came before you in prayer I can stand in the gap for the things that break your heart. Two blind men were sitting beside the road. When they heard that Jesus was coming that way, they began shouting, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” Be quiet!” the crowd yelled at them. But they only shouted louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” When Jesus heard them, he stopped and called, “What do you want me to do for you?” Lord,” they said, “we want to see!” Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him. Give your compassion LORD so that I can guide the blind to you to restore their faith. It is you oh God that gives spiritual sight to the doubters, to the faithless. The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. Make me the same way Jesus, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. You are honest and merciful, and you teach sinners how to follow your path.
