Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Listen, I hear weeping and sorrow. Many who are looking for relief and for release. LORD, I hear so much crying and pain in this world. Make me an instrument of peace in a world filled with chaos and hate. May my prayers mixed with the aroma of Christ rise to your throne and cause you to rise with righteous indignation. Where there is hatred send out your love. Where there is injury send your healing. Where there is striving send your rest. Where there is blindness send your sight. Where there is darkness send your light. Where there is sadness bear the grief of contrite hearts. If I am so worthy let me be an instrument in your hands in the land of living. Let me bless not curse. Let me encourage and not bring down. Let me carry burdens and not be one. Let me be fire and not cold. Let me be strength and not weakness. There are people in this world that use their bodies as weapons, instruments of violence. Break there bow, crash there chariots, consume their rage Oh LORD! We should not let any part of our bodies become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, we should give ourselves completely to God, for we were dead, but now we have new life. So we must use our whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. For when we lived according to the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, bearing fruit for death. But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code. The mouths of the righteous utter wisdom, and their tongues speak what is just. LORD, come and bring your joy in the morning. Suffering and pain only last for the night. I will sing of Your loving devotion and justice; to You, O LORD, I will sing praise.
