Oh To Be Wise Meditations
It matters what you put your faith in. Its worth is as pure gold and in this life we make idols unto ourselves. I think of Moses when he went up to Mount Sinai and saw the awesome love of God with his own eyes. So much so that his face shown with its glory. While he was before the LORD getting the law of the covenant the people of Israel grew weary. They began to complain and murmur and questioned there faith in the living God. They began to put there faith in a golden calf that that they made from there own silver and gold. Even convincing Aaron to orchestrate it, they built an idol that they trusted in from their past bondage in Egypt. These trials we suffer here on earth will show that our faith is genuine. Rejoice because it is producing us a golden faith treasured in Christ. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold, though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. LORD Jesus you know the way that I take; when you have tested me, I will come forth as gold. So many people when Jesus comes again will have put there precious faith into man and this world, investing there golden faith to the flesh. Jesus said, "When the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?” Moses came down and saw what Israel was doing and destroyed the law of the covenant onto the ground. We have done the same if when Jesus comes again we put all our faith in the golden calf's of this world. We dropped the new covenant and shattered our faith. Putting trust in ourselves emptying us of the pure faith we have been given in Christ. It matters what we put our faith into. Your building value in it and the ultimate investment is into the Kingdom of God. Grow in your faith in Jesus through relationship with Him. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! Oh how beautiful is the sparkle of our golden faith to the LORD's shimmering eyes. When Jesus comes again he is looking for a return on his investment purchased in the Gospel. Our golden characters of faith will be for his takings, a holy plunder for his glory! Your faith, it matters.
