Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Continuing with our topic of beauty for today. I was thinking about how some of the most beautiful things we will see will have no physical attraction. Its sure beauty is innate, meaning inborn or natural. Belonging to the essential nature of something. I actually want to talk about the essence of beauty tomorrow. But for today focus on innate beauty that attracts. The best example I think is Jesus. Isaiah 52:2 says He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. Yet so many people were drawn to him. Like the sick needed a doctor so did sin riddled souls need the love of Christ. The beauty of his love attracted many to the Gospel message. And on the Cross something so ugly and evil was beautiful to the ones who believed. How could such beauty come from the most ugliest of circumstances? Chew on this today, beauty is such a deep concept that I feel I have only touched the surface, but I digress. I will close with this, we must look deeper into a matter. Beauty by itself is superficial. There is an intricate inner working always. Nothing that is beautiful is made without the inner beauty first. Take time to day to study not only the outside beauty but notice the inside as well. You will be surprised by what you will find. Its not all seeking a flesh attraction, a spirit attraction is more fulfilling as you delve into the beauty of something more.
