Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Love does not have to perfect it just has to be honest. Pretending to be someone we’re not, we lose the essence of who we are. Putting on a front just to get people to like us. We should only try to impress God, and that only with humility and meekness. Jesus does not want us to pretend to be godly, having our hearts far from Him. No, he wants us to be really righteous by word and deed. Obedient to His Word in Spirit and in Truth. And to not pretend that we are perfect person, because we are not. We don’t have to be perfect before we come to the LORD, we just have to be honest with Him. He can work with that, for He alone is perfect and He perfects us with His Perfect Love. As we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. We lived honest before God, knowing we are saints saved by grace. With a real love for others it will chase those worries of judgment away. The thought of being punished is what makes us afraid. It shows we have not really learned to love. We love because God loved us first. If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? Not everyone who calls Jesus their Lord will get into the kingdom of heaven. Only the ones who obey the Father in heaven will get in. On judgment day many will say to Jesus, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ He will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ You who break Gods laws. He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Yes, see that justice is done, let mercy be your first concern, and humbly obey your God. Again, love does not have to be perfect it just has to be honest. And if we’re really honest with ourselves, real love for God and people will cast out any fear holding us back like insecurity and judgment from others. It’s time you stop hiding behind excuses and let Christ’s love work on the real you. You will be the better for it as you learn to love walking humbly before God and man.
