Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Bearing of fruit, fruit that will last. The whole point of this Christian life is to be able to live it by faith. The old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Our life of faith in Jesus Christ, our fruit-bearing life, is a life that reveals we have been elected and called. Although those diligent about living it may stumble, they will never fall. LORD, sustain me as you promised, that I may live! Do not let my hope be crushed. Hold me, and I will be safe, and I will always pay attention to your commands. By faith I will live a life that pleases you and gives glory to Jesus. Fruit that comes from pride and self will not last. The work of sanctification needs to happen daily to keep the fresh fruit of righteousness ripe in us. But we who live by the Spirit eagerly wait to receive by faith the righteousness God has promised to us.
