Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Continuing on yesterdays thought about the fruit of holiness. I think its important we realize holiness is not just about being perfect as our Holy Father is. He alone is truly holy and high above us. Yes, set apart and his ways are different than our ways. What Jesus did for us on the Cross was free us from the slavery of sin and death and make us slaves of righteousness. You are not a God, you are a mere human created in the image of God. We were meant to live in righteousness, truth and peace. Right now, we are in the between. Our Spirit made new by the Spirit of Christ is transforming us and renewing humanity, one soul at a time. There is a battle here on earth for the souls of man. We are to die daily to the old way of life we use to live and pursuing holiness in our lives. We are to put the old man to death as Paul would say, and that is a hard daily task. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus. Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. So, our end game with the fruit of holiness in our lives is, who is LORD of our life and body? Christ's righteousness already covers our nakedness and shame. We must allow patient endurance to do its holy work in us. So that each day fruit of holiness is making us rock solid in faith. Our heart and body must be spiritual disciplined so that we can have Jesus be LORD over us. Submitting to his will daily we become like him, bearing the peaceable fruit of righteousness that only comes from Holy Spirit. If this was too long too read and follow along, please follow through here with this last statement. This is the most important thing out of all this: We spiritually discipline ourselves to pursue holiness so we can know Him, Jesus our LORD and Savior. He then pours out Holy Spirit so that we can bear the peaceable fruit of righteousness in us. Its a struggle daily, each day we must answer the call of, Is Jesus LORD over my mind and body? Amen.
