Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Falling in love is easy, staying in love is harder. An old cliché but it works for all our relationships in our lives. There are so many things we fall in love with and have lost heart. So many things we prayed for that we loved so much, but have lost the fervency. People we cared for so much initially but have lost touch and heart for them. Life gets in the way of so many things and love dissipates. Its so easy to fall in love, amazing how the human spirit is. But sin has destroyed our innocence and love is not enough many times. This is why its harder to stay in love in our work in our homes, in our churches. We need staying power, we need endurance that only comes from the Cross. Our spirit can strive with the flesh meaning we fall in love with no sustaining power. We need the gift of Holy Spirit in us to finish what we so eagerly started in good faith. This is why we don’t just pretend to love others. We really love them. We hate what is wrong and hold tightly to what is good. Yes, put everything to the test and accept what is good. The love of God endures longer then we ever can imagine or think. You need the love of Jesus to finish what you started in holy love and sanctimony. So help you God.
