Oh To Be Wise Meditations
So many people have traded the truth about God for a lie. They worship and serve the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. Their lives have become full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. The Spirit of God cannot strive with the sinful demands of man's heart. And since they think it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandons them to their foolish thinking and lets them do things that should never be done. This is what I want to touch on today. Romans 1:32 They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. I say this with tears in my eyes, the grace of God is remarkable! In Jesus we have received forgiveness for all our sins. We are called to live for Him and die to self. And as we die to self we honor and respect God in his rich mercy towards us. God is holy and he demands justice every day. His law is to be kept above his name and we are to avoid sin as humanly possible. If not, there remains a judgment over us that the blood of Jesus will not cover. Sin leads to death and if we continue to sin there remains no remedy for it. There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies. Just as man is appointed to die once, and after that to face judgment, so also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him. LORD Jesus, I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name. Thank you for saving me from the things that lead to death and showing me the way to life. Help me to not fall away into sin again and disrespect the grace you have provided for me by the blood of Christ. People know in there hearts what is evil, and their conscience eats away at them every day. No one can deny the power and wisdom of Gods Living Word. Even in death, truths still speaks.
