Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Men of war. They have been tested in the battle. They know what it is like to fight to stay alive. They know what it feels like to have bullets barely miss you in the field of battle. To know someone is out there trying to take your life that God gave to you as a gift. War is chaos and only those who go through it understand it. Same with life, everyone goes through their own things, no one can say they know someone else perfectly. Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can fully share its joy. But many know the road others have crossed because they have been down that road before. You can tell when people have been through a lot. It shows even on there face. They carry burdens that they cannot release. They carry sorrow that they cannot handle. They hurt themselves and the people they love just to feel their alive. Men of spiritual war don’t be ignorant of the plans of the enemy. He is a devouring lion out their to snatch souls from the face of this earth into hell and destruction. So many people live in this world with no care for God and are not even aware of the battle of good and evil. Those of us that who have served the LORD for many years know that the battle is fierce and that there is much affliction to gain the Kingdom of Heaven. There is much suffering as a soldier of the Cross. Take courage there are others bearing there cross to. Around the world people are getting to know the LORD and enlisting in his army. If you have no context to the spiritual war we face then the Gospel is foolishness to you. But for us the power of the Gospel is real and suffering has its purpose. The intimate counsel of the LORD is for those who fear him so they may know his covenant. Seasoned men and women of spiritual war need to be a light to the next generation of how to fight and suffer in this life. For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. But rejoice that you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed at the revelation of His glory.
