Oh To Be Wise Meditations
It is a cold world. People die from temperatures dropping below 50 and 30 degrees. Our bodies need warmth and care. They need shelter and a place to rest from the cold outside. When exposed to cold temperatures, your body begins to lose heat faster than it can be produced. Prolonged exposure to cold will eventually use up your body's stored energy. The result is hypothermia, or abnormally low body temperature. A lot of people die out in the cold world. They don’t have enough shelter from the storms of this world passing through their lives. Coldness will come, we must make sure to prepare our hearts and minds. They say cold weather can be beneficial to us if would fight to stay warm. If we stay in our sins with the guilt and shame, it will keep us uncovered from the Grace we need from God and from others. Think about this: Studies have found that exercising in cold weather can increase your body’s energy expenditure even after you’ve finished your workout. You also burn more calories while exercising in the cold as your body is expending energy to keep warm. Cold temperatures may make you live longer! There are many that will die in the physical cold like the rich man and Lazarus story. The poor man died outside in the cold but God gave him a new home in heaven to forever have the warmth of his presence. But then also many will die warm and restless in their beds to face the cold reality of a life without God. Hell is going to be so hot that many will wish for the cold world that could have led them to God in Christ. Today, find shelter, find warmth, find peace in the covering of Christs sacrifice for us all.
