Oh To Be Wise Meditations

I can feel it. The hot sun burning on my face and my flesh. It's scorching rays zap my energy and makes me thirsty for water. It makes me hungry for food as I live and move and have my being. More than anything else the sun exhausts my spirit, challenging me to fulfill my duties while in an intense heat. I long for the cool of the day where I can feel relief in a breeze. Maybe a passing shower can refresh the ground and my soul. Oh the brilliance of Christ! I can feel it. His face is the like the sun shining in all its brilliance. He stands above the heavens with the earth as his footstool. His eyes burning with zeal with his intense love searing in peoples hearts and lives. His justice radiates our world with truth and life, exposing every hidden thing to the light of his presence. The Lord shines in the darkness and He is eroding the wicked to destruction. Evil is perishing along with its desires by the powerful rays of Christ Righteousness. Making thirsty those who's selfish desires are not met. He is making hungry those bellies that have not been satisfied. They will starve to death without the coolness of the Gospel of Christ. Soon the sun will set into the night like it always does. But like a thief in the night it will stay risen forever. The day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. The night of the soul will be no more! The true Light of the world will shine in all the earth destroying evil by the brightness of His Coming. Let the love of Jesus shine his rays of righteousness over you. Let him burn away the dross and reveal his treasure in you. The Holy Spirit is at work in our world and in our hearts, sustaining us as the Lord shines his truth and righteousness over all the earth. The world will feel it. You will feel it. What is it? The sanctifying power of Christ's love being poured out like a latter rain. Let the hot sun of righteousness burn on your face and your flesh. Allow the Spirit of Christ to burn away the flesh and cool you down with his love. Meditate Mal. 4:2
