The evidence of things not seen. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For we walk by faith, not by sight. So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. And we know that all creation is still groaning and is in pain, like a woman about to give birth. The Spirit makes us sure about what we will be in the future. But now we groan silently, while we wait for God to show that we are his children. This means that our bodies will also be set free. And this hope is what saves us. But if we already have what we hope for, there is no need to keep on hoping. Amen. The best evidence of faith is the Holy Spirit in our lives. Its the spiritual fruit bearing in us and the gifts of Christ moving through us. Praise God! Our changed lives is something we can see in each other that has everlasting value. Even the world sees it and glorifies God! You heard and believed the message of truth, the Good News that he has saved you. In him you were sealed with the Holy Spirit whom he promised. The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him. What a gift to be able to see the goodness of God working in our lives! To experience the power of the resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings. Oh the fruit that testifies to the glory of God! Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life. But there is an order to this resurrection: Christ was raised as the first of the harvest; then all who belong to Christ will be raised when he comes back. After that the end will come, when he will turn the Kingdom over to God the Father, having destroyed every ruler and authority and power. Amen. Your greatest testimony will be your changed life. It testifies as evidence of the eternal things to come. The Kingdom come.
