Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain; unless the LORD protects the city, its watchmen stand guard in vain. It is a waste of time, effort, and money if things are done without God's stamp of approval. Down to the very motive, if it's not according to the law and testimony of God's Living Word, you will labor in vain. If the LORD is not for you, though everyone is not against you, you will plot and plan in vain. The LORD blocks the plans of the nations. He frustrates the schemes of the people of the world. Nations rage, kingdoms crumble; the earth melts when He lifts His voice. Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? He guards the steps of His godly ones, But the wicked ones are silenced in darkness; For not by might shall a man prevail. The kings of this earth have all joined together to turn against the LORD and his chosen king. “Let us break their chains,” they cry, “and free ourselves from slavery to God.” In heaven the LORD laughs as he sits on his throne, making fun of the nations. The LORD becomes furious and threatens them. His anger terrifies them as he says, "I've put my king on Zion, my sacred hill." In these last days, he has spoken to us by his Son. God has appointed him heir of all things and made the universe through him. God alone understands the way to wisdom; he knows where it can be found, for he looks throughout the whole earth and sees everything under the heavens.
The wicked set an ambush for themselves; they are trying to get themselves killed lurking privily for their own lives.
