The enemy has no mercy. He sees a weakness in you and exploits it. Attacking your complacencies over and over again till you are broken. We are called to a High Calling, the calling of Christ. We are to set our sight on things above. So when we go higher the devil aims lower. He wants a great fall and devastation to your life. The enemy wants to devour you and sift you like wheat. This is why we need a clear mind, and an alertness to not fall away. Surrendering to God and placing yourself under Christ's authority is your only defense. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Do not give the enemy even a foothold in your mind. Yes, never give place to the devil. When we fall into temptation, fall into sin and its consequences, we need to remember to fall right on our knees in prayer. If not, the enemy is relentless in accusing and condemning. The enemy has no mercy. But God has mercy. The LORD is kind, and better to be punished by him than by anyone else. Once you were not God's people, but now you are. Once you were not shown mercy, but now you have been shown mercy. If we confess our sins to God, he will keep his promise and do what is right: he will forgive us our sins and purify us from all our wrongdoing. The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation. God will show the enemy no mercy, his judgment has and is coming soon.
