Proverbs of a 37 yr old man

Not even a bite.

Don’t demand an audience with the King or push for a place among the great. It’s better to wait for an invitation to the head table than to be sent away humbled. Jesus saw how guests at a dinner party had tried to take the best seats. So he told them: When you are invited to a wedding feast, don't sit in the best place. Someone more important may have been invited. Then the one who invited you will come and say, "Give your place to this other guest!" You will be embarrassed and will have to sit in the worst place. When you are invited to be a guest, go and sit in the worst place. Then the one who invited you may come and say, "My friend, take a better seat!" You will then be honored in front of all the other guests. In heaven all the righteous will have audience with King Jesus. In his Great Banquet of the saints he has invited the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind. Found in a wretched and miserable state, naked judgment before a holy God. They could never repay Jesus's gift of the Cross, only could they honor his sacrifice by offering their lives as living sacrifices. And it is counted worthy as they are to take part of the resurrection of the righteous. What a blessing it will be to attend thee banquet in the Kingdom of God! When the banquet is ready, Jesus will send his servants to tell the guests, ‘Come, the banquet is ready.’ But many will be asked to be excused by the way they live. Others will be to busy to live for Christ. The worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth causes many to forget God. Enduring for a while but when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately they fall away. Christ's servants will report what many guests are doing with this invitation of the Supper of the Lamb. Jesus is coming soon and his reward is with him. He wants to give to each person according to what they have done as soon possible. Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. He tells his servants, go as fast as you can to every street and alley in town! Bring in everyone who is poor or paralyzed or blind or lame." 'Sir,' the servant said, 'what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.' Jesus with the fire of love in his eyes says, go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house of God will be full. Not one of the first guests he invited will get even a bite of his food! Only those who recognized there need of the King and took heed to the invitation will eat of the peaceable fruit of heaven. There will be shock and awe when Jesus calls to the table the least of these. May we be counted just as worthy from the far back seat of the bleachers. Yes, called to come and sit closer to the right and left hand of God.
