Trust is dangerous. Placing our welfare, our wellbeing, in the hands of another. Trust is only as safe as the thing or person you are trusting. Many times we do not even have a choice and we are thrown into situations out of our control. That is why we must make the choice beforehand which way we will go and how we will live. An old proverb says, a word to the wise is sufficient. Is the word of God sufficient enough for you so that when you hear it by faith you follow? If there is any capacity for wisdom in the heart of the hearer, he or she will respond in faith and obedience to God. They have seen how consistent foolishness produces pain and how consistent wisdom produces joy. But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. There is every reason to trust God and follow his principles of wisdom in life. See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The LORD God is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. Put not your trust in princes, in mortal man, who cannot save. Trust in the Gospel of our LORD Jesus. The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.
