Diving Pruning. Submit to those pruning shears, pruning is painful but profitable. Our trials are occasions for joy because they will test our faith and develop perseverance and maturity. Though we endure long, intense and difficult trials, many times the LORD is pruning away sin in our lives. Professed believers be warned, unfruitful branches are those who confess Christ but never bear fruit because they do not genuinely remain in him, they are cut away. Fruitful branches, those who truly remain in Christ will be pruned to bear fruit for his glory. The Spirit of Christ wants to bear the peaceable fruit of righteousness in us, if only we would yield to his diving pruning. We need God's help even to desire to yield ourselves to his pruning. May God bring people and events into our lives that will sanctify us so that we might bear true spiritual fruit for his glory and his kingdom's sake. But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever. For what you have done I will always praise you in the presence of your faithful people. And I will hope in your name, for your name is good.
