Proverbs of a 38 yr old man
Drunk in the world. Don't destroy yourself by getting drunk in the world, but let the Spirit fill your life. Wine is an intemperate thing, and strong drink full of violence. It isn't smart to get drunk! Drinking makes a fool of you and leads to fights. Too many man made doctrines have become drunk in the world and have been depleted of the power of the Gospel. Leaving people so drunk that they become complacent with sin in there lives. Little by little the conscious becomes numb to fleshly desires. Intoxicated with sin you begin to drink until you are abruptly awaken to the reality of real consequences. Don't associate with people who drink too much wine or stuff themselves with food. For they are on their way to spiritual poverty, and too much sleep in sin clothes leaves them in filthy rags. Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep, and an idle person will suffer hunger. Who is the one always in trouble? Who argues and fights? Who has cuts and bruises? Whose eyes are red? Those who linger over wine, who go to sample bowls of mixed wine. So do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly! In the end it bites like the snake and poisons like the deadly viper himself the devil. For the LORD holds a cup in his hand that is full of foaming wine mixed with spices. Yes, He holds a cup filled with wine, strong and foaming. And He will pour out some for every sinful person on this earth, and they will have to drink until it is gone. Praise God, The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life. He has given me life and showed me kindness, and in his providence watches over my spirit.
