Proverbs of a 38 yr old man

The Expectant Mother. She glows brimming with joy with this new life inside her. For nine months she is to carry life and nurture it. It is a hope deferred, but when new birth comes its worth the wait and suffering. A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the bones are formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. Oh see the expectant Christian, see how they wait for new birth and new life to come! They feel the spiritual birth pangs as Christ is being formed in them! They nurture and protect the gift of Holy Spirit in there lives. The wind blows where it wishes. You hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit. Yes, “Sing, O childless woman, you who have never given birth! Break into loud and joyful song, O Jerusalem, you who have never been in labor. For the desolate woman now has more children than the woman who lives with her husband,” says the LORD. What Eve, the mother of all the living bore in sin, God our Father in Jesus has bore in righteousness many more sons and daughters. The LORD is the one who makes birth possible. And he will see that Zion has many more children. The LORD has spoken. All creation is eagerly waiting for God to show who his children are. Christians are expecting like the expecting mother, groaning within ourselves, waiting for the adoption of the sons of God, the redemption of our body. O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from this body of death? Oh how only Jesus can, soon to give us the real birth of everlasting life. As a pregnant woman about to give birth writhes and cries out in her pain, so were we in your presence, LORD. Happy Mothers Day.
