Proverbs of a 38 yr old man

Sickness saps the spirit as well as the body. Be careful to not let sickness crush your spirit. Your will to live can sustain you when you are sick, but if you lose it, your last hope is gone. The human spirit can endure a sick body, but who can bear a crushed spirit? The LORD nurses us when we are sick and restores us to health. A person may be disciplined on his bed with pain and constant distress in his bones, so that their body finds food repulsive and their soul loathes the choicest meal. Saying, "Have mercy on me, LORD; heal me, for I have sinned against you.” The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. He is the healer of the brokenhearted. He is the one who bandages our wounds. Do not let sickness sap the spirit Christ placed in you. Though our bodies are dying because of sin and death, our spirit is being renewed daily by the Holy Spirit. Likewise the Spirit also helps in our infirmities. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin. Jesus, my heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming.” I find healing for the soul when I seek your Holy Face.
