Proverbs of a 38 yr old man

Jesus is our Thanksgiving meal. Yes, our Passover meal, where we celebrate having gone from death to life. Anyone who eats his flesh and drinks his blood has eternal life, and He will raise that person at the last day. Just as the living Father sent Jesus and He lived because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on Jesus will live because of Him. From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled; with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied. So pass the mashed potatoes and the greens. Enjoy the turkey and ham. Taste the cranberry sauce and the pumpkin pie. And remember a future feast has been prepared before you. The table has been set with an abundance of spiritual food and life. In this time of year where food is eaten with so much pleasure. Let’s remember the body and blood of our LORD Jesus Christ. His grace and mercy have been lavished so much upon us, yes smothered in such juicy and gravy love. Till the great supper of the Lamb, just a piece of bread and a cup of grape juice will do. No need for gluttony, we are full and satisfied with the Bread of Heaven for now and to come. Oh Manna of Heaven rain down a thanksgiving blessing and give us the grace to receive it and be satisfied.
