Proverbs of a 39 yr old man
I saw a sign on a store flashing the word evil. Faintly the D was coming in and out which made the whole word Devil. That definitely describes the Devil perfectly because he is the father of lies. A pure evil that he authored in humanity's heart. Mankind has ran away with it since and been found wanting in judgment before God. If you think about it, there is another word to offset evil and that is good. Scripture says to overcome evil with good. Take out one of those o's and you have God. Jesus said to the rich young ruler when he was talking about inheriting eternal life, Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. And is that not true, only God is good and holy and perfect. He is the author of good and when He says to us to leave everything behind and follow Him, He is making an appeal for us to change our lives from sin and death to spirit and life. In sin did our mothers conceive us. For we are sinners from birth. Yet you LORD desired faithfulness even in our inmost being, and you teach us wisdom in our secret heart. Yes, You purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; you wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me, now let me rejoice. We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away. LORD, lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
