Proverbs of a 39 yr old man

Knowing how to yield is true strength. Resisting temptation is empowering. There is something about stepping on the head of the snake that jolts victory in us! The snake of our evil desires is always nipping at our heal trying to make us fall into sin and death. Either in willful or accidental sin, Jesus has the antidote for the poison the enemy stirs in us. We are lead astray by our own desires left for dead in our guilt and shame. What is amazing about Jesus death on the Cross for us is that He is the Bronze Snake lifted up for our healing and salvation. As we grow stronger in our faith and in righteousness we develop a tough skin. To the point where the fangs of the enemy can’t even penetrate the redeemed tough hearts of man. Like the Apostle Paul who was ashore on Malta simply shaking off the snake into the fire and suffered no ill effects. So do we shake off the snake of evil desires throwing it into the Holy consuming fire of God leaving behind no guilt and shame. Praise God, we can go live in the purposes God in Christ that He has prepared for us today. Able to resist temptation because of our toughened hearts and minds being submitted to Christ. Sin and death have lost their sting. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you. But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.
