Proverbs of a 39 yr old man

You appreciate things so much more through the sweat of your brow than things freely given and already cultivated. To Adam God said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’ “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. Your food will be plants, but the ground will produce thorns and thistles. Oh God, it's the thorns and thistles that forces me to work hard for my daily bread. This to make me realize all you do for me, and not what I can do for myself. Salvation in Christ is the same way. The Power of the Gospel means so much though freely given, it's still yours for the taking. We are called by God to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Yes, work with fear and trembling to discover what it really means to be saved. At the Garden of Gethsemane Jesus through the sweat of his brow gave out even his blood in anguish. And on the Cross He bore on his head thorns and thistles to produce the Holy fruit of the Gospel in us. Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered. In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him. Don't let thorns and thistles, the cares of this world keep you from cultivating the Living Word of God Himself in your life. Through the sweat of your brow, work hard to know Jesus more and more everyday. He will bear the peaceable fruit of His Righteousness in you that will satisfy you now and into eternity. So many will say, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry.”’ They have been made fat by the luxuries of this world and never produced the righteousness that God desires through the humble sweat of the brow.
