Proverbs of a 40 yr old man

The inner man. The inner being. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. Amen. In Christ our spirits are being renewed every day though our bodies are dying. We must pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he may strengthen us with power through his Spirit in our inner being, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit. Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. Amen. Let me give you an example of this, Scripture says to not be filled with wine but to be filled with Holy Spirit. Why? Because wine is something that awakens the flesh with fine wine and spirits leading to debauchery. Drunkenness leads to anguish and sorrow. To fighting and complaining to unnecessary bruises and hallucinations seeing crazy things. Its friends are carousing, lust and sensuality. When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Spiritual Babylon is known in Revelation as a great prostitute, who sits by many waters. With her the kings of the earth committed adultery, and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries. Amen. We must stay constantly filled with Holy Spirit. Reading Scriptures for life and correction, The Spirit of Christ has to be moving in us daily so we do not gratify the desires of the flesh. The inner being, the inner man, is where the I must discipline my body so Jesus can keep me living in victory and not continual sin and death.
