Proverbs of a 40 yr old man

Jesus once said, no one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God. Yes, Lord, I will follow you, but first let me explain myself to family and to the world I live in. But they may reason with me and turn my heart from the seeds of the Living Word being planted in me. The Gospel of the Kingdom is being proclaimed! I must press in to know Him Christ the LORD! Plow your Word, your Kingdom Jesus in my heart. My flesh wants to look back for the world's opinion and family affirmation. But my born again Spirit wants to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead! Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. I hear the words follow me from my Savior, Here I come LORD pushing the plow with both hands to work the field the souls for your Kingdom's glory! The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So, I pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; I ask him to send more workers into his fields. Amen. Oh Christian, remember Lot's wife! Lot's wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt. She was to keep her eyes to the hills from whence her help comes from. But she looked back at the judgment of God and was swept away with it. Don't go back to the old vomit of your sins, your old ways and desires of this world. No, keep your eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. If we have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, we are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would be better if we had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command that we were given to live a holy life. Proving the truth of this proverb: “A dog returns to its vomit.” And another says, “A washed pig returns to the mud.” God willing, we will move forward to further understanding. It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. When the ground soaks up the falling rain and bears a good crop for the farmer, it has God’s blessing. But if a field bears thorns and thistles, it is useless. The farmer will soon condemn that field and burn it. Amen. Let's put both hands on the plow and live in the blessing of knowing Jesus. In Him, we will bear much fruit for the Kingdom.
